Technology is an ever-changing
subject, and in the brave new world, along with today...our lines revolve
around technology. In Huxley's Brave New World, the level of advancement is
astounding...for example the process of turning cremated body ash into
fertilizer. The way that Huxley expressed the reliance on technology is crazy.
In the outside world, a majority of us wait until old age to die...but in brave
new world everyone lives until their sort date...then they are retired from
their pre-meditated life. "And they were happy, we all are"(Huxley,
71) In today's society, we are in complete control of our emotions, but in the
Brave New World, all are forced to be happy...they are all bred that way. The
nearly unfathomable technological heights that have been reached in the new
world have to be due to some advanced system of quantum computing. The amount
of equations that have to be solved every millisecond is astounding...and with
the Time Magazine article by John Henry, he states that "Now imagine a computer
operates under quantum rules. Thanks to the principle of superposition, it's
bits could be I or O, and O or I at the same time. It exists as two equally
probably possibilities". The reason this relates to Brave New World, and
our current world is because we aren't yet at that level...but we are soon
going to be there.
